The short version
HoistAI searches organisations and serial-numbered property. It does not search individual people.
Why the line exists
HoistAI implements organisation-grantor and serial-number PPSR contract shapes, but current preview and paid-search requests fail closed. It never supports searches by a person's name, date of birth, driver licence, address, or other personal identity details.
What happens if you try
The request is refused before Hoist searches a source register. There is no special credential, agent mode, or account tier that enables individual-grantor searches.
What you can still do
The documented boundary excludes individual-grantor subjects. Organisation and serial-number contract shapes exist, but Hoist PPSR preview and paid search are not currently customer-accessible. Knowing a VIN, ACN, or ABN does not unlock a Hoist PPSR call; use AFSA direct today.
If you need individual searches
Use AFSA direct or a provider with a different approved scope. Hoist is not the right tool for individual-grantor searches.
Verification
Read the future contract shape at /.well-known/openapi.json. It explicitly marks organisation and serial-number PPSR calls unavailable: preview fails closed without a price or register dispatch, and paid search is unavailable.
