Questions your agent can ask
- "Does this VIN match the asset identifier in the file?"
- "What PPSR provenance is available for this VIN?"
- "Does this ABN match an active, registered business?"
- "Is the business GST-registered at the stated ABN?"
- "What changed since the last Evidence Pack?"
- "Which fields need a person to review?"
- "Can we check this ABN and VIN together?"
An Evidence Pack can include canonical VIN or serial identity, PPSR source trail, supplied-description checks, ABN/GST status where supplied, timestamps, risk flags, and review items. It also states the boundaries of the data checked.
A day, before and after account access
A person checks the VIN, ABN, and PPSR record separately, then copies notes into the asset file.
With account access, your agent calls Hoist through API, CLI, or MCP. The Evidence Pack returns source-backed fields, review notes, and evidence references in one response.
Agent runs Hoist can support
One response for the asset file
With account access, your agent sends the VIN or serial number and the ABN. Hoist returns PPSR and ABN/GST source data with timestamps, source references, and review items.
Ask what changed since the last Evidence Pack
The what_changed surfaces compare evidence snapshots or a time range and return unchanged facts, changed fields, risk flags, and source-backed evidence references.
Give the analyst the fields that need attention
Hoist returns risk flags and review items alongside source data. The agent can summarise those items, but the business process still decides the outcome.
Source data, not a finance decision
Hoist checks the enabled Australian sources for your account and returns the result. It does not make the finance decision or replace a person where your policy requires review.
What the vehicle section covers
Canonical VIN and serial-number evidence
Hoist normalises the supplied VIN or serial number and includes that canonical identity in the Evidence Pack. The result makes clear which source data was checked.
Supplied vehicle details compared with PPSR collateral text
When make, model, year, or description are supplied, the Evidence Pack records whether those fields match the PPSR collateral summary available to the flow. These checks are matching evidence, not an independent make/model source.
Mismatch surfaced as a review item
If supporting identifiers are present, Hoist records whether they match the asset identifier used for the Evidence Pack. A mismatch becomes a review item.
What this does not claim
Hoist does not currently run live NEVDIS, state-registry, registration-plate, stolen, written-off, or registered-operator checks. The Evidence Pack states this boundary when those checks were not run.
Access surfaces

npx @hoist-assets/clifor terminal checks and repeatable scripts. - MCP via
mcp.assets.hoistai.com/mcpfor agent hosts that support MCP. - Live PPSR and ABN/GST source checks require account access, source availability, and paid-call confirmation.
Pricing
Pricing depends on account access, enabled datasets, and expected volume. Paid source checks require confirmation before they run. See /pricing for the current public plan shape.
FAQ
01Can an asset finance agent check a VIN and ABN together?

02Does Hoist check NEVDIS, state registration, stolen, or written-off status?
No. Hoist does not currently run live NEVDIS, state-registry, stolen, or written-off checks. The Evidence Pack states this boundary when those checks were not run.
03Does Hoist make the credit decision?
