The search certificate is the official artefact AFSA issues for a PPSR search run through AFSA. It can include an AFSA seal, search reference, timestamp, searched identifier, and the registrations shown for that inquiry.
What it proves
The certificate records what the AFSA register showed for that inquiry at that time. It does not prove broad asset clearance, legal title, or what changed after the timestamp.
How Hoist handles it
Hoist does not currently run PPSR preview or paid search and returns no PPSR result, certificate, or certificate hash. If you obtain a certificate directly from AFSA or another established provider, keep it attributed to that external source; do not present it as a current Hoist result.
Retention
Hoist stores no current PPSR certificate because PPSR calls are unavailable. Retention for an externally obtained certificate is governed by the provider and your own records policy.
