What is ASIC entity intelligence?

Hoist uses complete, trusted ASIC public snapshots for company, business-name, and selected professional-register checks; requests return source_unavailable while a required snapshot is absent. AFSL lookup retains fixture compatibility data; ACL lookup requires an exact trusted snapshot.

ASIC entity intelligence means source-cited company, business-name, and selected professional-register checks from completed public snapshots. The separate asic_licence_lookup path retains explicit AFSL fixture compatibility data; it reads ACL records only from an exact trusted snapshot and fails closed when that snapshot is unavailable or untrusted. Neither path is a live or current-extract workflow.

Hoist does not turn an ASIC signal into a blanket approval. It returns field-level status so an agent can distinguish source-cited facts from gaps.

Verified, not verified, and human review

Verified means the field matched the source snapshot Hoist checked. Not verified means Hoist did not have source evidence for that field, the source did not return it, or the supplied value did not match with enough confidence. Human review required means the source result is ambiguous, stale, cancelled, name-similar rather than exact, or otherwise needs a person to decide.

Current-extract boundary

ASIC-related checks distinguish completed server-owned public snapshots, fixture responses, and unavailable current extracts. Hoist has no wired current-extract provider and does not expose a current-extract price, confirmation state, or dispatch path. Hoist copy and tool responses must label fixture or unavailable source data and never present deterministic fixtures as official-source evidence.

Limitations

  • Hoist public copy does not claim ASIC current-extract access unless the response includes current-extract evidence.
  • Use the relevant official ASIC register directly for current information and review the returned official record before relying on it commercially.
  • A company or licence status check is not legal, credit, insolvency, or payment-safety advice.
  • Director, banned-person, and other person-sensitive searches need separate scope and privacy review before any public product claim.

How Hoist uses this

Hoist uses ASIC entity intelligence to support counterparty checks, not to replace the source. See /docs for current tool and API status.
